Lakers set to face Frölunda in Alvesta
Växjö Lakers season ended a while ago. Now planning for the following one has begun.
Next season the team won’t participate in the European tournament CHL, resulting in more preseason games than years past.
Växjö Lakers have spent some time with the planning and parts of the schedule is completed.
We are looking at roughly 8 preseason games, according to general manager Henrik Evertsson
What’s decided is that Växjö Lakers will face Frölunda. The date is not yet set however the location is.
The game will be played at Virdavallen’s ice rink in Alvesta.
Understandably a big day for the Division 2 team and organisation.
It’s going to be great, says Henrik Evertsson.
Also decided is that the team will face Rögle twice during the preseason and that the team is traveling to Finland for a training camp between the 22nd and 25th of august.
During which time the team will reside in the Finish capital Helsinki.
The idea is that Växjö Lakers will face two Finish teams during their stay with our eastern neighbours.
In addition to these 5 games Lakers will play against an additional 3 teams that have yet to be named, prior to the start of the SHL season, as reported by Minhockey.
The ice rink in Virdavallen was built in 1978 and has an estimated capacity of 1200 spectators according to the hockey website Eliteprospects.se.
