New pop festival to Tyrolen
On Saturday, August 3, Tyrol in Blädinge and Kafé de luxe in Växjö organize a new indie pop festival in Tyrol. The festival is called Pop-Non-Stop and the artists Jens Lekman, Slowgold, Familjen and Pale Honey will perform.
– Around the turn of the millennium, the indiepopen was the norm. At most festivals, indiepop was at the heart of the bookings. In the center there was the then strongly niche Emmaboda festival, and there were compulsory attendance for everyone with pop interest. When Emmaboda in the 00s completely changed concept and became a festival for electronic dance music, a big hole arose in the Småland pop soul. A hole that we together with Tyrol intend to clog with Pop-Non-Stop, says Nils Hector, Kafé de luxe.
The festival begins with a party at Kafé de luxe on Friday.
