She became the IT girl of the year
Ebitsam Mohammedsalih, a student who lives in Växjös, has received Microsoft's IT Girl of the Year award at a gala in Stockholm.“She is passionate about equality, diversity and inclusion. With a great commitment to education and how the way of teaching should be adapted to reach more, she is already a role model today,” says the statement.
- It feels great, absolutely fantastic. The other girls who were nominated are also really good and when they read the motivation I looked at one of them because I thought they described her exactly. So when they said my name I just thought, "What?", Says Ebitsam Mohammedsalih to Smålandsposten.
She came to Sweden from Ethiopia in 2014 to live with her mother and her husband in Stockholm. Now she is studying software engineering at Linnaeus University in Växjö.
