Almost three years ago, Växjö company APP bought the property where Quality Hotel previously had its business. The property at Sandviksvägen 1 at Fagrabäcksrondellen cost 7.8 million Swedish crowns. After the hotel closed, the property has been an asylum residence but soon the building will be to accommodate approximately 200 new homes.

– Our plan is to submit an application for a demolition permit to Växjö Municipality during the year. Then it will be ripped down when all tenants have moved away. Sometimes, between March or April, a building permit can be submitted, says Henrik Swahn, CEO of APP Properties, to Smålandsposten.

In addition to the empty hotel building, there are some tenants left in smaller premises, including a hairdresser. They should all have moved in the first half of 2019.
