A new fire station might be built

For many years there has been a desire to relocate the fire station in Vislanda. The station is right next to a school and according to Smålandsposten it can now become a reality with a new fire station.

– Both we and Alvesta municipality fully agree that a new station is needed. But we also need a partner to build. Since we are a union, we carry out the rescue mission for the municipality, but it is the municipality that is responsible for the cost of the station, says Jörgen Gertsson, associate manager for Värend's rescue service, to Smålandsposten.

A decision is needed as to where the new station can be located. One plan is to build it at Route 126 to facilitate emergency calls.
