A writer from Växjö won the August Prize 2019

Oskar Kroon from Växjö won the prestigious August Prize in the category Swedish Children's and Youth Book of the Year. He was praised for his book "Wait for the Wind". The award is a bronze statuette and 100,000 Swedish crowns.

– I'm very happy about this, he said from the stage after receiving the award.

Two years ago Johannes Anyuru, who grew up in Araby, won the August Prize in the category of fiction book of the year for the book "They will drown in the tears of their mothers”.
