Crisis support for cinemas
The government has allocated a special crisis support to the cinemas that have been struggling because of the corona pandemic. The Swedish Film Institute has now announced which cinemas are allowed to take part in the support.
Over 1 million Swedish crowns of the crisis support goes to cinemas in Kronoberg County, Kalmar County and Blekinge. Folkets bio in Växjö gets 24,455, Swedish crowns, the cinema in Alvesta gets 8,110 Swedish crowns and Folkets hus in Hovmantorp gets 5,233 Swedish crowns.
But despite the crisis support, Håkan Henriksson, who is the director of the cinema in Hovmantorp, believes that it can be tough in the future.
– We employees are laid off. When the layoff expires last September, we might have to go home if it still looks like it does now, he said in a press release.
