Växjö can get a new hospital. The current Central Hospital in Växjö is getting worn out and much of the hospital is in need of a complete renovation, which could take up to 40 years. Therefore, the question has been raised if it is better to build a completely new hospital in another location in the municipality.

An expert group has initiated a feasibility study to check what economic impact the alternatives have and what is required for the future healthcare activities to be conducted.

– We expect that it would take eight years to build a new hospital. The issue will be settled on the regional council on April 24, says member of the Regional Executive Board Mikael Johansson (M) to Växjöbladet Kronobergaren.
