On June 17th, it is time for a new timetable in Växjö's city traffic. In connection with that, departures will not longer be available late evenings and nights. There are two reasons for the decision.

It is partly about that the fact that the Växjö municipality's environmental and health protection committee wanted to reduce the traffic noise at nights. At the same time, there were budget reasons. The money that is saved, just over 3 million Swedish crowns, will be used for a new line to Bredvik from August.

– When we now made these changes in our traffic supply, we have the opportunity to offer good public transport in Växjö's two newest residential areas, Vikaholm and Bredvik, and hopefully get more people to choose to travel collectively. There will continue to be good opportunities to travel by public transport in the evenings and weekends, says Carina Bengtsson (C), chairman of the traffic commission.

The reason why the night buses are affected is that they have less cost coverage than day traffic. Generally, every other departure after 22:30 disappears and the entire city traffic will be affected.
