Lessebo was affected by forest fires
Last year's forest fires hit Lessebo municipality hard. A total of 186,000 square meters of forest fired, which was the biggest amount of forest in Kronoberg County. The fires also cost the rescue service about 420,000 Swedish crowns. The money was later returned by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.
Last year's fires, however, gave many lessons, according to Leif Sandahl, fire engineer at the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.
– Coordination and education have generally been developed. At the same time, we have expanded equipment that we can offer the rescue services, says Leif Sandahl to the news agency Siren according to Smålandsposten.
