Major consequences when the Employment Service shuts down

The Public Employment Service will close five offices in Kronoberg County. According to new calculations from TCO, it will have major consequences for the job seekers in the county. When the office in Lessebo municipality disappears, 600 unemployed people will have to travel several miles to Växjö to get to see a job coach.

– One of the fundamental pillars of active labor market policy is now threatened. The changes have obvious consequences for individuals as well as for the labor market. This will ultimately affect the ability to change, says Eva Nordmark, chairman of TCO.

According to TCO, there are 3,830 long-term unemployed in Kronoberg County. The closure can have major consequences for these.
