Many drugs were found in Växjö's wastewater
Växjö • Publicerad 23 oktober 2019
At Sundet's sewage plant, samples are taken on the wastewater to see how much residue of drugs there is. They search for cannabis, amphetamine and cocaine.
The survey also includes Gävle, Linköping, Norrköping and Uppsala. In Växjö, fewer doses of both cannabis and amphetamine were found than in the other cities. However, more people in Växjö appear to use cocaine than in Gävle, Linköping and Norrköping, writes Smålandsposten.
In a survey from 2017, the figure showed 52 doses of cannabis per 1,000 inhabitants. In September 2018, the figure was 92 doses. The traces of amphetamines have also increased, from 8.5 to 15.3, writes Smålandsposten.
