More students lost study grant

In the country as a whole, 29,600 pupils at the upper secondary school lost their study grant due to absenteeism during the past school year. This corresponds to 8.7 percent of all pupils, which is an increase compared to the academic year 2017/2018.

In Växjö, the proportion was 9.3 percent, according to the Central Student Aid Board. It is also more than in 2017/2018 when the proportion was 5.9 percent.

Lessebo municipality has the most pupils who skip school in Kronoberg County. Almost every fourth student with study grant got the support withdrawn by CSN because of skipping school.
