In Sweden, more people died than usual during the month of April. But in southern Sweden, the figures shows that it has been the opposite in several cities.

In Malmö, mortality has been lower during the corona pandemic than in the previous year. According to figures from SCB, which Kvällsposten has taken note of, mortality has increased somewhat in Växjö.

In March, 69 people died in Växjö. This is two more than in the same month of 2019 and eleven more than in 2018. In April 64 people died in Växjö, a few more than in April 2018 and 2019.

According to Kvällsposten, 681 people died in Kronoberg County between weeks 1 and 18. This is four more compared to an average during the corresponding period 2015-2019.
