New information about the fire at Maxi in Växjö

According to information to Smålandsposten, it was a lit candle that started the big fire at ICA Maxi in Växjö in early February. The candle was taken from the store and lit on the leisure department.

An 18-year-old man and two girls, who are 16 and 17 years old, are suspected to be behind the arson and according to the newspaper, the three suspects disappeared from the spot where the fire started to follow the other customers at a slow pace when the store was evacuated.

Prosecution is brought this week, but it will take some time before the case comes to trial because the investigation is expected to take time. At the present time, the 18-year-old has been arrested on suspected of arson. He denies the charge. The two suspected girls were not asked to be arrested but released by the prosecutor with regard to their age, Smålandsposten writes.
