Record year for Växjö Småland Airport

Växjö Småland Airport had a record year in 2018. Never before has the airport had so many passengers during a calendar year as 2018.

Last year, the number of travelers was 277 500. That gives a growth of 14 percent compared to the previous year and places Växjö Småland Airport in a second place in terms of growth among Sweden's airports.

– Now that we sum up 2018, I can happily state that Växjö Småland Airport has been very successful. There are several reasons why the 18-year-old record has now been beaten. This is mainly due to the fact that the airport's range of airlines and destinations is matched well with what is demanded by our region and by visitors to southeast Sweden, says Ulf Axelsson, CEO of Växjö Småland Airport.

The new routes to Berlin and Amsterdam have meant a lot to the airport, the tourism and the business sector.
