The apartments in the newly renovated area Alabastern at Araby in Växjö will have higher rents. The rents will be raised from the current average 950 Swedish crowns per square meter to 1,245 Swedish crowns per square meter.

Initially, Växjöbostäder and the tenant association could not agree on the rental levels, and therefore the matter went on to the rental committee, which has now decided that the increase will become reality.

– It is joyful that the rental committee decides that equivalent apartments should have equivalent rent, says Maria Säterdal, CEO of Växjöbostäder.

Before the renovations, the rents were negotiated, but according to Växjöbostäder it did not result in the right rent level if comparing with other equivalent apartments.
