Residential burglaries are reducing

Residential burglaries are reducing. During the first six months of 2019, 1,476 burglaries were reported to the police in the south region, which includes Skåne, Kronoberg, Kalmar and Blekinge. In the same period in 2015, the figure was 2,678 burglaries.
– Our citizens are more vigilant. They take help from neighbors and use alarms. Neighboring cooperation is also of great importance in preventing burglary, says Jan-Ingvar Nilsson police in Svedala and Trelleborg to SVT Skåne.
Most burglaries occur during the darkest months of the year, especially during the afternoon before residents return home.
