Significant increase in parking fines in Växjö

Since 2016, the number of vehicles that have received parking notes in Växjö municipality has doubled. According to SVT Småland, the sum from parking fines has increased by almost 3 million Swedish crowns.

– We issue a parking ticket for the vehicles that are parked inappropriately and unsuitable. Now that we are monitoring a growing city, there are larger areas that we need to monitor. And the consequence of this is that accessibility increases, and with it the safety and security of all road users, says Magnus Nykvist, traffic engineer in Växjö, to SVT Småland.
