Significant increase of notice in Kronoberg

The pandemic has put Sweden's economy under severe pressure and many companies are fighting for their survival. According to the Employment Service, the number of notice has risen sharply in the past two weeks.

Between March 1 and March 29, 267 people in Kronoberg County were affected by notice of termination. Throughout March last year, the figure was 20.

– We have never seen such high alert figures in a month. In the past week, the number of people affected by notice has doubled. We are now also seeing a spread to transport and trade. So far in March, most people have been notified of dismissal in hotels and restaurants, staffing and the hospitality industry. The major cities in Sweden have the most notified notifications, but the other counties take a larger share, says Annika Sundén, head of analysis at the Employment Service.
