Suspected arson in Växjö

During the night until Thursday, the police and emergency services were alerted to Sommarvägen in Växjö, where a fire had spread in a garage. Several cars must have been totally destroyed in connection with the fire.

- Two cars are totally burnt out and another couple of vehicles and other equipment have received smoke damage, says Joakim Karlsson, rescue manager at Värend's rescue service to Smålandsposten.

Police blocked off the scene pending technical investigation and are investigating the incident as an arson fire as there is no natural cause for the fire.
