That’s how the national day is celebrated in Växjö

The national day celebration is led by Fredrik B Ekdahl, who works at P4 Kronoberg. This year's speech is held by Kristina Bingström, editor-in-chief of Smålandsposten.

– We think that Växjö's national day celebration is a well-functioning concept and it is usually appreciated. There will be a nice moment in Linneparken, says Mark Andersson, cultural secretary at the cultural and leisure administration in Växjö.

This year's invited artist is Andreas Weise, who has been in Idol and who earlier this year won the music competition Stjärnornas Stjärna in TV4. He will, among other things, perform with the Kronobergarna’s music year. In addition, Växjö manskör, Kulturskolan runs the Sonette and Moa Fredriksson in place to entertain.

During the celebration, the municipality's new Swedish citizens will also be welcomed with speech by Bo Frank (M), mayor of Växjö, and a ceremony at Linnéparken.
