The bicycle library opens again

After last year's success, the bicycle library opens up again this year. The bicycle library means that you book a bicycle via Växjö municipality's website and then pick it up in one of four bicycle shops that the municipality cooperates with. There are 24 bikes in different models to choose from.

New for this year is that you have to pay a fee to get a bike. The reason is that the bicycle library is primarily for those who are considering buying a bicycle.

– It is our hope that more people will discover how easy it is to get on a bicycle and that the bicycle becomes an alternative to the car, whether you are commuting to work, shopping for food or driving the children to preschool, says Colin Hale, project manager for the bicycle library in Växjö.

The bicycle library is financed by two EU projects, SUMBA and CoCiUM, and is part of Växjö municipality's investment in the environmental program to increase sustainable transport in the municipality. Just like last year, you can borrow the bike for three weeks.
