The bridge in central Växjö is being rebuilt

Parts of the Klosterbron have been demolished in connection with the reconstruction of the Växjö station area. According to Växjö municipality, the bridge is now perceived as dark and cramped and it is not optimal for people who walk there.

Therefore, Växjö Municipality now wants the bridge to be widened and that roofs and walls should be demolished and replaced to give Klosterbron a whole new aesthetic with wood and glass that connects to the station, the new municipal building and the Västerbron.

The municipal council proposes that the municipal manager should be given the task of producing and procure contracts for the reconstruction of Klosterbron.
