Ulriksberg Church has a social project, Neighborhood, to help young people in Araby. Young people earn points in a mobile app by, for example, participating in lectures and homework help. These can then be used for activities such as cinema, skiing, practice driving lessons or truck driver training.

This spring, the project received over 1.1 million Swedish crowns in support from the General Heritage Fund, with a promise of another 2.5 million Swedish crowns over the next two years. Recently, they also received an additional 210,000 Swedish crowns. The money will go to further employment and development of the mobile app, writes Dagen.se.

– Secondly, there are two full-time jobs, me and one guy named Ali who grew up in Araby. Then we redo the app, so this year a lot of money goes into programming and designing it. Most of the funds remaining go to the activities and lectures, says Jonathan Ekros, employee of the Ulriksberg Church and the principal of the project called Neighborhood.
