The party wants to see a vision zero against child poverty in Växjö
The Social Democrats in Växjö have submitted a motion to the City Council where they propose a zero vision against child poverty in Växjö.
– We Social Democrats want to alleviate the effects of child poverty and drive the work for a zero vision regarding child poverty. No child should have to feel excluded or have anxiety because of the parents' finances, says Malin Lauber (S), the City Council's second vice-chairman, via a press release.
According to Malin Lauber (S) and Julia Berg (S), who wrote the motion, 1,930 children in Växjö municipality lived in economically disadvantaged families in 2016.
