The police continue to fly drones

The police have decided to continue using drones in the work of guarding the Araby area in Växjö. Now, they have been granted a permit for camera surveillance from the air until 11 January next year.

The drones are allowed to fly between 12 o'clock and 06 o'clock every day of the week. Only the public place is guarded and the person flying the drone is not allowed to film in housing.

“Current areas that are monitored from the air are Araby, Vintervägen and areas around Spetsamossen in central Växjö. Camera surveillance through UAS / drones is a necessary complement to the police's other activities to prevent or detect serious criminal activity, and to investigate and prosecute such crimes”, the police write on Facebook.
