The police dog found missing demented man - is being praised

Police officer of the year 2019 is Bella, a five-year-old Belgian Shepherd/Malinois breed. She works with the police Tobias Hjalmarsson in Helsingborg. During the year, Bella and Tobias Hjalmarsson has made important efforts to find missing people. One of the events was when they found a demented man in his 70s who had been away for two days in the Småland forests outside Växjö.

– We went out in the dark at ten o'clock in the evening in snowy rain. When we found him after two hours he was completely exhausted and I had to carry him out to the nearest road. The search work is what we enjoy best as an equipage as we work closely together. Finding people who have disappeared and perhaps save their lives is the most fun thing with the job, says Tobias Hjalmarsson.

He and Bella also searched for drugs and found a great deal during the year, especially cannabis.
