The police will employ 250 new employees

The police will employ about 250 more people in 2019 in the South region, to which Växjö belongs. It is both the police and civilian employees. In six months, the number of permanent employees has gone from 4,735 to 4,831. Eleven police officers have been re-appointed and 123 new police assistants arrived in June. This autumn, another 110 new police assistants will be offered jobs in the South region. In addition, the police will recruit 62 new investigators, analysts and administrators.

- The forecast we made at the beginning of the year is firm. We are in a growth phase and the increased supply of resources in the form of both newly trained police and civilian employees is both urgent and welcomed, says Jarl Holmström, Deputy Regional Police Chief.

During the first seven months of the year, 63 employees have retired and 92 employees left the region and the police for other reasons.
