The price for dental care is increased

The costs for the entire region's dental care are expected to rise by four percent in January 2020. This is not levied in tariff increases, but dental care will instead streamline its operations.

A regular examination of dentists today costs 898 Swedish crowns in Kronoberg County. After January 15, the price will instead be 900 Swedish crowns. The price of dental hygienist increases from 684 Swedish crowns to 701 Swedish crowns.

The new fees are based on the Dental Care and Medicines Benefit Agency's reference price list. 18 percent of Kronoberg's general dental care is at or below the reference prices, while 55 percent of specialist dental care is at or below the reference prices.

– But then we have put together the material cost no matter what you choose. So we do not charge anything extra if you want a ceramic crown and most people want it because it is the best, says Annika Kahmeter, Kronoberg region's dental manager, to Smålandsposten.
