The rents are increased in Växjö
The tours around Växjöbostäder's new rents for 2019 have been many. The housing company proposed a seven percent increase in rent due to increased costs and the current level of maintenance.
As Växjöbostäder and the tenant association did not agree on the rent level, the case ended up with the Rental Market Committee. An independent chairman has now decided that there will be an increase in rent of 2.7 percent for family homes and 2.0 percent for student housing.
– We are grateful that the Rental Market Committee with an independent chairman established the bid that the mediators negotiated, even though it is lower than what Växjöbostäder is in need of, says Rene Jaramillo (M), chairman of the board of Växjöbostäder.
The rent increase applies on February 1, 2019, and is taken out retroactively on the lease for April and May to compensate for the lack of increase for February and March.
