The rescue service makes home visits

During week 48 and 49, Värends Rescue Service will conduct preventive home visits in Alvesta and Växjö municipality.
Together with the municipal housing companies, the emergency services must inform about preventive fire protection in order to reduce the fires in multi-family houses.
– We have good experiences from previous years' home visits, in this way we make sure that important information really comes through, says Roger Petersson at Värend's Rescue Service.
During December, the number of fires increases by 40 percent compared to the other months of the year. A large part of the housing fires are caused by candlelight and dry boiling.
