Växjö Pride cancel the parade

On May 4-10, Växjö Pride was supposed to be held. But due to the coronavirus COVID-19, there will be no opening or parade this year. The Board has decided that the large public meetings should not be held. However, alternative solutions should be found.

- Växjö Pride's task is to raise and make LGBTQ issues visible. It could be done in different ways and this year we need to be creative, innovative and re-evaluate what a Pride festival can look like, says Markus Emilsson, project manager for Växjö Pride.

The parade is described as the entire Växjö manifestation of the LGBTQ movement and a tribute to love. About 10,000 people usually participate in the parade in one way or another.
