The Moderate Party Board wants to see a state investigation into a hijab ban on primary and preschool, which the union in Kronoberg supports.

– There are both practical and fundamental difficulties with this, as it affects religious freedom and the right of parents to decide. At the same time, the school should be for everyone. We believe that boys and girls should be treated equally and have the same conditions. The school should be a free zone where children can be children, says Anna Tenje (M), chair of the Växjö Municipal Board and member of the party board, to Smålandsposten.

Anna Tenje points out that she personally does not oppose a possible ban. The issue will be raised at the party meeting in October.
