Visita and Handel's Investigation Institute, HUI, are behind a new study that shows how the corona crisis strikes against the hospitality industry in the country's regions. The report shows that 900 jobs in Kronoberg County could disappear.

– The Corona crisis has hit hard on the entire hospitality industry, the situation is acute. The hotels and conference facilities are empty, the restaurants' revenues have plunged and there is great concern about the summer also at campsites and amusement parks. We now risk mass unemployment and a never-before-seen bankruptcy wave. Now it is important that the restructuring aid comes into place quickly and that existing support measures are strengthened and extended. Otherwise, large parts of the hospitality industry may be knocked out, says Jonas Siljhammar, CEO of Visita, in a press release.

For the entire country, as many as 80,000 jobs can disappear and 9,000 companies in the hotel and restaurant industry are at risk.
