Bicycles is being transported away in Växjö

At the end of September, the municipality of Växjö began a bicycle inspection at the Växjö station area, in parts of Växjö center and Teleborg center. Patches were set up in the affected areas and on all bikes that were parked there. This week, the municipality began to transport away the bikes that have been parked in the same place since the inspection began three weeks ago.

The bikes will be handed over to the police bicycle stock and those who are broken will be given directly to the municipality or state.

“The control of parked bicycles makes it easier to manage the cleaning in the area. There will also be more free bicycle parking for those cyclists who need parking”, writes Växjö Municipality on their website.

The police bicycle store on Krukmakargatan 1 takes care of abandoned bikes and looks for the owner for three months. After that, the bike will be given to the Police Authority.
