Before the summer, work begins on building an eleven-person pitch and a seven-person pitch at Virdavallen. Hopefully the pitches will be ready this fall.

– The dream is that the pitches will become a place for everyone who lives in Alvesta, says Glenn Gunnarsson, chairman of Alvesta GIF, to Smålandsposten.

The artificial grass project will cost just over ten million to carry out. With the help of grants from the National Heritage Fund, the Swedish Football Association, the Smålandsidrotten and a loan with Alvesta municipality as guarantor, the association has managed to collect the money.

– We are still looking for a lot of grants, so it is difficult to say exactly how much of the ten million Swedish crowns is a loan and how much is the grant, says Niklas Sjöden, chairman of Alvesta GIF's club section, to Smålandsposten.
